Joining the string of the top luxury brands in Europe, the Hermès Group has announced measures in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. With sufficient cash reserves available, the group will maintain the basic salary of its 15,500 employees worldwide. This means the Hermès Group, like Chanel, will not be using chômage partiel offered by the French state.
In addition, Hermès will donate 20 million euros to Assistance Publique – Hôpitaux de Paris. This is in addition to over 30 tonnes of hand sanitiser the brand’s fragrance manufacturing site in Vaudreuil produced.
Finally, more than 31,000 masks by the group’s various entities. These actions are over and above the local support already provided to health services by its subsidiaries worldwide.
