Feminine, soft, self-aware are the words that one could use to describe this season’s MASHAMA collection. There is a thorough examination of the world from a new perspective by the designer. There are fuchsia silks, jade Azalea printed knits and leopard print faux fur. In addition, some of the outerwear pieces use fabrics made of recycled plastic bottles – a welcome nod to eco-responsible living.
Generally, the clothes accentuate the female body through the lace evening dresses and shirts. Masha still explores cuts and asymmetries, while adding knitted fabrics and suits.
Overall, this is a collection that celebrates women’s self-awareness and feminine beauty. It also highlights the notion of being unique as everyone is different. At times, MASHAMA feels a little intimidating, but only to become even more awe-inspiring.
