Saint Laurent Spring/Summer’20: Shimmering Future

Glitter, gold and shorts – this season the Saint Laurent show once again created huge traffic jams around the Eiffel Tower thanks to its open platform, temporarily installed opposite the world-famous iron lady. The crowd, frozen in expectation, was in no way disturbed by the heavy autumn rain.

As for the collection itself, Vaccarello paid special attention to shorts. They were often in blue denim and black. On the other side of the spectrum was a pronounced influence of the seventies, which manifested itself through long skirts, transparent blouses and knee-high boots. Flirting, heavy embroidery and smooth gold cleverly blended with structured tops.

In general, the collection carries a sense of having studied several classic eras of the house. It is not as a completely new direction for Saint Laurent. Nevertheless, it is nice to see that Vaccarello has moved away from the usual strict path of black tones. The designer boldly expanded the palette, which perfectly plays along with shorts and the hippie motives of the coming summer.
