This April, Vogue Italia caught the public’s eye with a blanc cover – a first in its history.
According to Vogue Editor-in-Chief Emanuele Farneti, the reason behind the idea is that to him, white colour signifies respect, rebirth, the light after darkness and the sum of all colours.
“White is the color of the uniforms worn by those who put their own lives on the line to save ours,” he continues. “It represents space and time to think, as well as to stay silent”.
In addition, the April issue features works of over 40 artists around the world, who created ‘Far Away So Close’ portfolio. Some of the names include Steven Klein, David Sims, Harley Weir and Oliver Hadlee Pearch.
The April issue hits the newsstands on Friday the 10th. It will also be free to download from the Vogue Italia’s homepage.
