With most of the world in a lockdown, the Fondation Louis Vuitton has introduced a special programme of events. The museum has decided to bring visitors an artistic experience in their homes.
The COVID-19 pandemic has made it impossible for people to attend events at museums, cinemas, theatres and concert halls. The #FLVfromhome initiative features live events, interviews, rebroadcasts of concerts, guided tours of exhibitions and masterclasses.
Tonight, a major concert featuring the work of composer Steve Reich will happen at 20:30 (Paris time). A pioneer in minimalist music, Steve Reich is going to perform some of his best-known pieces; those include pieces by the Colin Currie Group and the Synergy Vocals singers.
The next concert is on Sunday, April 12 at 17:30 (Paris time). It will feature the second cohort of the Classe d’Excellence de Violoncelle, directed by Gautier Capuçon. Six young talented cellists were invited to a several-months master class with the internationally-renowned virtuoso. They will bring the programme to a close with a concert, accompanied by Gautier Capuçon.
Full details of the #FLVfromhome events are available on the Fondation Louis Vuitton website, its Facebook page and its YouTube channel.
