One of the most innovative designers in Ukraine – Lilia Litkovskaya – presented her autumn/winter’19 collection at the Embassy of Ukraine in Paris. The collection is a result of studying her own roots and the artists that have inspired her. She goes through the story of her country, her traditions and the Ukranian folklore.
There are oversized jackets with puffed up shoulders, while the trousers are loose and wide. The designer uses different artisanal techniques, including tapestry, beading, weaving and embroidery. The sculptures of Tatiana Brodatch became a part of the collection, featuring a man of gold on brooches, necklaces and pendants.
In the end, Litkovskaya has presented an interesting collection. As she pays tribute to her heritage and culture, she takes a fresh look on Ukranian fashion. It feels like a manifestation of continuity and legacy.
