The brand has crafted Latitude from Self-Reinforced Poly-Propylene (SRPP Ballistic)- an ultra-durable material that is both lightweight and incredibly strong. Its unique construction allows it to perform in any environment, no matter the landscape or climate.
Latitude uses a layer method that provides strength, durability, and flexibility. Its material, constructed out of a 100% polypropylene composite, achieves maximum strength by being woven into a fabric layer. The layers are then consolidated into sheets, which are placed into a custom press; the more layers used, the stronger the shell is. Sporting equipment, personal protection, and auto industries often use this type of layered woven material.
TUMI’s Latitude features a patented X-Brace 45® telescoping handle system crafted from lightweight-yet-sturdy aircraft-grade aluminium. As a result, this system forms a protective, shock-impact-absorbing structure around the telescoping handle tubes within the case. Therefore, eliminating damage to the handle system while reducing the overall weight of the case.
Additionally, TUMI has designed a newly engineered wheel system. These wheels feature a wide inner-spoke system with the lower centre of gravity that allows for a stable multi-directional navigation.
