Kering partnered with the CDC Foundation to provide personal protective equipment and other essential supplies for healthcare workers in America. Kering and its Houses will collectively donate $1 million to the CDC Foundation. The donation aims to support the efforts of front-line health professionals, both in the US and in Latin America.
The CDC Foundation is an independent, not-for-profit organisation established by the United States Congress. Its mission is to expand the protection missions of the Centres for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) through public-private partnerships.
As the pandemic intensifies, there is growing concern about the capabilities of the American health care system. The CDC Foundation’s emergency response fund allows flexible resources to be used to meet priority needs.
In addition, Kering will support the CFDA / Vogue Fashion Fund’s “A Common Thread” initiative; as well as the local community support initiative “Your Friends in New York Want to Help” launched by Kerby Jean-Raymond.
These contributions follow those already made by Kering in France, Italy and China in recent weeks, which include the production of more than a million surgical masks and gowns for healthcare workers.
