Following her three-year tenure at Givenchy, Clare Waight Keller is departing the french fashion house. Givenchy has made an announcement on their official Instagram account:
“The House of Givenchy and Clare Waight Keller announce the end of their collaboration. Givenchy wants to warmly thank Clare Waight Keller for her creative leadership, in contribution to our latest chapter 🖤…”
WWD reports that Givenchy has cancelled its women’s pre-spring collection, and it will not produce a fall 2020 couture collection. The brand plans to prepare a big men’s collection – combining pre-spring and runway – for sale in its showrooms in June.
The British designer shared on her Instagram: “After three truly wonderful years, the time has come to close my chapter at Givenchy. As the first woman to be the Artistic Director of this legendary Maison, I feel honoured to have been given the opportunity to cherish its legacy and bring it new life.”
