For this season’s défilé, Maria Grazia Chiuri invited guests to a mini-forest in Paris. This was the result of working with the local environmental design team Coloco. The trees will soon become a part of plantations in projects around the French capital. The theme of eco-development and design has been meticulously embedded into the show; from its location to the natural tones used in the collection.
Chiuri claimed she found her inspiration in Catherine Dior, Monsieur Dior’s sister. Catherine’s life is inspirational as it is symbolic. Madame Dior became a famous gardener and botanist after surviving a concentration camp during World War II.
The collection is wonderful, light, delicate and alluring. Tones range from solid, beige, green to light blue and denim ombre. A set of floral monotonous prints adorns blouses and skirts; while the delicate transparency of fabrics adds lightness and enchantment elements.
Chiuri usually develops and delivers her concepts down to the smallest detail, and this season for Dior, her work again produced a triumphant result.
